With a mission to ignite a lifelong love of learning in future innovators, we are dedicated to expanding access to highly engaging STEAM and Design Thinking learning experiences, especially for under-resourced school children, so every child can say with confidence, “Dear Future Me, I’m Ready.”
In the 2025–2026 school year, we engaged more than 12,000 students, representing a remarkable 100% increase from the previous year.

How Children Learn Matters As Much As What They Learn
Irrespective of the zip code, when classrooms become a safe, collaborative space for children where they can engage in hands-on learning that allows them to lead with empathy, curiosity, and creativity, they stop seeing themselves as passive learners and begin seeing themselves as confident problem-solvers, creators, innovators, and contributors.
When classrooms shift from teacher-led to student-led, children start to expand as they actively create models of their collective ideas, play with prototypes, learn from mistakes, and take ownership of their learning journey.
We have consistently watched children go from feeling stuck and bored with the traditional rote learning approach to expanding again and engaging in learning through Marshmallow Minds learning experiences!
Meet Amelia - The A+ Student Hidden Behind a B Average
Amelia is a 7th-grade English learner growing up in a low-income community. She is creative, caring, and loves working with others, but in school, she often felt defined by what she struggled with rather than what she did well.
Because English is not her first language, Amelia frequently heard that she needed to improve her reading and writing. Over time, she began to believe that she wasn't one of the "smart" students.
Then Amelia participated in Marshmallow Minds' Migratory Birds Conservation Design experience, and something remarkable happened...
