IMPACT AT-A-GLANCE
Marshmallow Minds exists to provide access to the knowledge and skills necessary for STEAM-enabled careers, especially in under-resourced schools and communities, and we have been successfully delivering on it.
In the 2023-24 school year, we engaged over 8000 students, a 260% increase from the previous year. We adeptly navigated the pandemic and innovated our critical services at a time when our students and teachers needed the most help. And now we are asking for your support to do it again!
WE ARE ADDRESSING A PRESSING EDUCATION NEED
Most children in our Title-1 partner schools have limited access to experiential STEAM and do not have access to Design Thinking, a simple yet powerful problem-solving process. In the 2023-24 school year, More than 80% percent of middle school students in our Title-1 partner schools reported that they are getting exposure to experiential STEAM and Design Thinking through Marshmallow Minds programs.
Research studies at Harvard School of Public Health show that the COVID-19 pandemic and climate change disproportionately affect low-income families. This highlights the importance of future-ready problem-solving skills necessary in the under-resourced communities to handle tough situations and come up with new ideas.
